About Us

The 21st century belongs to SMEs. An important mission of the Forum is to ensure that SMEs can benefit from the collective wisdom and efforts of various SME organizations in India. The Forum will partner with eminent SME organizations in various countries to help Indian SMEs gain access to the vision and guidance of world leaders.

SME Forum of India, voice of Indian MSME Sector, is initiated by SME Chamber of India jointly with prominent organizations all over India, involved in development and empowerment of Small, Medium, Micro and Tiny Enterprises from various sectors. The Mission of this Forum is to integrate all SME organisations and Trade Promotional Bodies to protect the interest of MSMEs and to take up various issues with State and Central Governments, Financial Institutions, Regulatory Authories and other stake holders for appropriate action, solutions, remedies, policy change and policy implementation. The Forum will emphasise more on revival of and rehabilitation of sick, financially stressed and struggling Indian MSME Sector.

The Forum will provide necessary support to SME organizations to strengthen and equip to empower their members to succeed in competitive market, to take advantage of the emerging business opportunity that will be arising from “Make-in –India initiative and to identify international business opportunities. It will create State and Central Level Task Forces to review various policies, regulations, compliance systems, stringent laws, difficult and unaffordable formalities, eradication of corrupt practices, labour laws, permissions and other regulatory formalities of Government Departments as well as Financial Institutions, Public Sector Enterprises, Corporations, Multinational Companies and various Organisations. The Forum will act as “Single Point Contact Centre” for representing various problems and issues of SMEs.

Activities

  • To bring together SME organisations and trade bodies
  • To formulate and prepare various laws, policies, regulatory compliances and other required formalities.
  • To suggest policy change and implementations
  • To encourage SME organisations to avail various facilities, schemes and incentives of various State and Central Government Departments and Agencies
  • To protect interests of MSME Sector for manufacturing and other sectors
  • To suggest, State and Central Governments for “ease of doing business” in States and National level.
  • To take up issues and problems with Financial Institutions, Reserve Bank of india and other authorities
  • To organise Annual Conference to discuss and review the growth of SME Sector
  • To discuss and review initiatives taken by Central Government for policy change and implementation
  • To compile various issues and problems for appropriate redressal
  • To organise meeting every quarter in various of parts of India to discuss and review problems and issues of SME Sector
  • Mentoring, Financial Inclusion, Best Practices, Marketing & Branding Support for innovative & growth oriented SMEs.
  • To Guide and assist office bearers of various SME organisations
  • To emphasise on revival of sick units and struggling SMEs
  • To encourage and convert aspiring young generation into entrepreneurship
  • To prepare action plan to transform Medium Size Industries into Corporate
  • To secure priority sector’s interest and implementation strategies
  • To safeguard interest of Indian SMEs while inviting foreign investors and SMEs for avoidance of competition and downfall
  • To educate and train SMEs for innovation and inventions
  • To promote growth oriented SMEs in international markets for investment and industrial activities
  • To Provide relevant information on standards, taxation, certifications, taxation, tariffs and trade regulations

Objectives

  • To compile and gather “Knowledge” pertaining to SMEs
  • To discuss the problems faced by SME Sector
  • To promote new technologies and ideas at National and International Levels
  • To liaise with the Government authorities and in various organizations
  • To take up issues pertaining to SMEs with the appropriate authorities for redressal
  • To organise meetings of the Office bearers of various Indian SME Organisations periodically.
  • To publish a newsletter containing information on issues related to SMEs
  • To promote, protect and develop common interests of SME Sector
  • To cooperate with various institutions and organizations in the collection and exchange of information pertaining to SMEs.
  • To develop better coordination, collaboration, joint participation, relations and understanding amongst SMEs
  • To establish contacts and relations with International Chambers, Associations in India or outside India to develop and establish direct contact and/or sponsor study teams to various countries.
  • To arrange Seminars, Workshops, Training Programmes, Conferences and Interactive Meetings with officials from Government Departments, Banks Insurance Companies, Embassies and Consulates, Credit Rating Agencies and other Institutions connected with the development of SME Sector
